At Virunga Ecotours, we believe in providing a
unique and transformative educational experience for learners and their
educators. Our initiative offers a rare opportunity for students to visit parks
and immerse themselves in the wonders of nature and cultural heritage. We are
dedicated to making a positive impact, particularly for learners from nearby
schools, many of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our field study education programs aim to instill a deep appreciation for the importance of national parks and the conservation of wildlife and biodiversity. Through interactive and engaging activities, children learn to identify, name, and describe the fascinating flora and fauna within these protected areas. They also gain valuable insights into the delicate balance of ecosystems and discover ways to sustain and preserve the natural world for future generations.
We welcome volunteers and well-wishers to join us in this noble endeavor, as their support and ideas enrich the learning experience and create a sense of community around conservation efforts. Together, we can inspire and educate learners, equipping them with the knowledge and passion to become stewards of the environment.
During school holidays, we organize a variety of events at Virunga Ecotours, ensuring that the children are not only educated but also happy and entertained. Guided tours to a chosen area provide immersive experiences, giving the learners a deeper understanding of the natural wonders surrounding them. Scheduled video showings and storytelling sessions by our program coordinator further enhance their connection to nature and cultural heritage.
We actively participate in "Umuganda," the National Cleaning Day, which presents a unique opportunity for our local guides to educate children about the significance of caring for protected places and the detrimental effects of littering on the environment. In collaboration with women, youth, men from nearby communities, and volunteers, we come together to clean and maintain the surroundings of our villages, promoting sanitation and improved health for all.
Our vision is that, over time, a large number of learners will acquire the essential knowledge of wildlife and conservation, making them ambassadors of environmental preservation. We aspire to create a generation of environmentally conscious individuals who actively contribute to the sustainability and protection of our precious fauna and flora.
Through our Field Study Education initiatives, we are fostering a love for nature, nurturing curiosity, and shaping responsible global citizens who will champion the cause of conservation and leave a positive impact on our planet.
Join us on this journey to inspire and empower learners through the wonders of nature and cultural heritage.
